BFF

A week ago today I went to TN to meet up with my three best friends. I've posted about them before. I met the Redhead in kindergarten (we shared green playdough on the first day) and we became friends with the Assistant Dean and the Brown Eyed Girl in junior high. We've committed to getting together every 5 years for some girl time. Since this year we all turn 35 (OK, technically I did that at the end of last year), it was time for a reunion.

We had the best weekend. We grilled an amazing dinner, took walks with the dogs, enjoyed our picnic breakfast on a neighbor's porch to escape the surprise rain shower, hiked in the beautiful TN hills, learned the names of trees we didn't know, stayed up talking WAY too late and continued to talk once we'd retired to our rooms. It was the perfect chance to catch up, relax and recharge.

There are few other people in the world who know me as completely as these women do. We have grown up together. Heck, we're still growing up! And although we're geographically separated, we're still doing it together.

We used to write BFF or some variation of it on notes, notebooks, etc. in junior high and high school. Thankfully, for me, it's still true today.
